I am a devoted 57 years old runner, cyclist, swimmer and endurance athlete. I am also a wife, mother of 2 and grandmother of 5.
I have a love for animals and have 7 dogs, 3 cats and a parrot as pets. I served in the South African Police Force actively for 22 years and parted ways as Captain.
Over my athletic career, I completed 22 Comrades, 22 Om die Dam, 22 Loskop Ultra Marathons. Furthermore I have competed in three Kalahari Extreme Marathon stage races, which consist of 250 kms over 7 days. These were done in 2016, 17 and 18.
When time permits I enjoy taking part in triathlons, I have competed in the 70.3, Buffalo City and a few 5150. My objective in my athletic career is to participate in all the major events across all provinces in South Africa. Knysna, Voet of Africa, Kosmos 3 in 1, City to City, Soweto, Longtom and the 2 Oceans Marathon.
I have competed internationally. In Lesotho, I ran the High Altitude Marathon. In Zimbabwe I ran the Country to Country. Later on in 2019 and 2020 I will compete in Jordan and Peru.
A career highlight would be to compete in a “Big City” Marathon in either London, New York or Paris. Most recently, I started with Trail Running; I find the platform less stressful and more scenic and plan on doing many more.
