MSM is an organically bonded sulphur necessary for the structure of every living cell

What is THRESHHold®?

Sulphur is an important nutrient necessary for the maintenance of healthy joints, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissue. It is also a key component of collagen and a building block of keratin. No wonder it is beneficial for hair, skin and nails. Because the body uses sulphur continually it is imperative to replenish this nutrient daily. As your body does not produce sulphur, you have to eat it. THRESHHold® is made up of MSM, which is an organically bonded form of sulphur found in plants. THRESHHold® was developed to provide the body with the sulphur it needs every day.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)

What is MSM?

MSM or Methylsulfonylmethane, is an organically bonded sulphur necessary for the structure of every living cell. MSM has been present in the oceans, soil and atmosphere of our planet for eons. It is absorbed by plants, consumed by animals and is part of nature’s great sulphur cycle on which all life depends. It is the third most abundant mineral in the human body.

Where does MSM come from?

MSM originates in the oceans where microscopic plankton release sulphur compounds into seawater that, in turn, are rapidly converted to DMS, a volatile sulphur compound which escapes into the atmosphere. In this suspended, gaseous state, the DMS reacts with the ozone and ultraviolet sunlight to create DMSO and DMSO2 – or MSM. The MSM then precipitates to earth, where it is absorbed and concentrated in plants. Although MSM is abundant in nature, even the richest natural sources only provide MSM to the level of several parts per million. Commercial “harvesting” of MSM is not possible: man produces MSM by oxidizing DMSO. This process exactly replicates the natural MSM compound.
